Santiago, for the fouth consecutive year, will host the 2018 Copa Mitchell Cup. HAB Caicos Sonics of Turks and Caicos has been invited for the first time. They will play against the Plaza Fernando Valerio, Cupes de los Pepines, Pueblo Nuevo, Sameji of the Dominica Republic. The GIE Maile Matrix, Atlanta Legends and Texas Cyclones will return from the United States (UBA).

On Thursday 1st February, the Turks and Caicos team will be measured with the Dominican squad, from 20:15. Before, at 18:00 the Cupes de los Pepines will face Sameji. The American team will match up Friday morning. The other two teams are scheduled to arrive in the capital on Wednesday.

Sonics newly appointed head coach, Travis McAvene , said his team will fight to win, despite the limitations that imply no competition since October. "The players are committed to give their best to win.

All local teams are allowed four imports and eight locals. Head coach Travis McAvene has already announced the signing of Khaleal McCormick (198-F-94) and Calvin Warner (201-F-80, college: Jacksonville). "Calvin has been a star for years, said McAvene. With the addition of these two we are going in the right direction. The Sonics are now only allowed two more imports before the CMC official roster release.

This should be the best Copa Mitchell Cup event in the past three years.
