Breakers sign Rakeem Christmas - Jan 5, 2018

New Zealand Breakers (NBL) signed 27-year old Virgin Islander forward Rakeem Christmas (206-113kg-91, college: Syracuse). He supposed to play at Galatasaray in Turkish BSL league, but left the team in Nov.'17. In 5 games he had 9.8ppg and 3.4rpg this season. Christmas also played 5 games in Eurocup where he recorded 5.2ppg and 4.6rpg. The last season he played at the Pacers in NBA. In 28 games he averaged just 2.1ppg and 2.0rpg.
Three years ago Christmas was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in second round (36 th overall). The former Syracuse University staris in his third season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Christmas' team was regular season runner-up in ACC in 2014. He was also voted All-ACC Most Improved Player of the Year and All-ACC Defensive Co-Player of the Year back in 2015 at his college time.
Christmas has played also professionally in NBA G League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).
