John Collins
John Collins (208-PF-97, college: Wake Forest) is expected to make his season debut Saturday after the Hawks power forward was upgraded to probable on the team's injury report ahead of a game at the Pacers.

Collins has been out all season after he suffered left ankle soreness during the preseason. He received an injection early in the process and has continued rehabilitation.

Collins, entering his second season, is an expected starter. However, there was no immediate word whether he would be in the starting lineup against the Pacers or would be on a minutes restriction.

Getting Collins back is good news for the struggling Hawks (3-12), who have lost six consecutive and 10 of their past 11 games.

Collins appeared in 74 games as a rookie last season and averaged 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

The Hawks will also have the return of center Dewayne Dedmon, who missed the past three games because of the birth of his son. He has rejoined the team.

Taurean Prince likely will miss his second consecutive game because of right Achilles pain. He is listed as doubtful.

It marked the first tournament win for Minnesota under head coach Richard Pitino and the first tournament victory since 2013 for the program. But Murphy made a little personal history, moving up to No. 2 on Minnesota's all-time scoring list on Thursday. H...   [read more]

Murphy comes to the twilight of his memorable career with Gophers - 1 day ago
DES MOINES, Iowa - With a casual gait, Jordan Murphy(201-F-97) led the Gophers men's basketball players onto the court for the team's shootaround Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center. The senior forward also was the last to leave. This isn't a surprise. During his four seasons at Minnesota, Murphy has never missed a practice. Not for a twisted ankle, dislocated finger, a random bout with the flu, or most likely, the accumulation of bumps and bruises (or something worse) from the banging he ex...   [read more]
