COLUMBIA, Ky. - Campbellsville basketball's Stephaun Adams (185-G-96) was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

The senior guard from the Virgin Islands led the Tigers in a lot of key categories as CU went 3-0 on the week with wins against Alice Lloyd College, Oakwood University and Philander Smith College.

Adams averaged 21.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists in the three CU victories while leading the team in minutes played with 97 of a possible 120 minutes played. He also shot 45 percent from the field, 44 percent from three and was a perfect 6-for-6 on free throws in the three games.

Last Tuesday's win over Alice Lloyd was the lowest scoring total for Adams but everyone in the Powell Athletic Center was on triple-double watch as he stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

In Friday's Lou Cunningham Classic opening game against Oakwood University, Adams carried the scoring load for the Tigers, scoring a game-high 27 points in their 86-60 win. He once again led the team in assists with six while also scoring 16 of his 27 in a tightly contested second half against the Ambassadors.

He then followed with a repeat performance against Philander Smith, scoring over 20 points and shooting exactly 50 percent for the second-straight game. Adams scored 25 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field while adding eight assists and six rebounds on their way to another blowout win by a score of 104-82.

This player of the week honor is the first for any CU men's basketball during the 2018-19 season. The Mid-South Conference has given out the honor during three other weeks this season with Pikeville's Jayvian Delacruz winning twice and Anthony Eaves from Cumberlands winning last week.

The Tigers have two games this week as they host the Campbellsville Classic when they will play Berkeley College on Friday and Allen University on Saturday.

Jordan Murphy moves to second on Minnesota's all-time scoring list during win over Louisville - 16 hours ago
Jordan Murphy (201-F-97) continues to make history at Minnesota. Murphy played a huge role in the Gophers' 86-76 victory over Louisville in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds in the win. It marked the first tournament win for Minnesota under head coach Richard Pitino and the first tournament victory since 2013 for the program. But Murphy made a little personal history, moving up to No. 2 on Minnesota's all-time scoring list on Thursday. H...   [read more]

Murphy comes to the twilight of his memorable career with Gophers - 1 day ago
DES MOINES, Iowa - With a casual gait, Jordan Murphy(201-F-97) led the Gophers men's basketball players onto the court for the team's shootaround Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center. The senior forward also was the last to leave. This isn't a surprise. During his four seasons at Minnesota, Murphy has never missed a practice. Not for a twisted ankle, dislocated finger, a random bout with the flu, or most likely, the accumulation of bumps and bruises (or something worse) from the banging he ex...   [read more]
