Ramel Lloyd flashed his potential as Calabasas performed well at the Bishop Montgomery/Burbank Tournament. The 6-foot-6 freshman had 20 pts, 7 asts, 7 rebs in the Coyote's win over Providence, 71-66. In their only loss to El Camino Real, 74-64, Lloyd managed 16 points. His best offensive game was 24 points as Calasbasa roughed up Burbank, 84-69.

In a win for VA Academy, 2020 SG Amir Nesbitt (182-PG-01) lead the way with 20 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 asst, 2 steals versus Father Henry Carr in The Govenor's Challenge Christmas Tournament.

Malcolm Farrington (195-G-99) and DME Academy fell to South Garland (TX) 58-49 in the finals of the Kentucky Lake Showcase. The 6-3 guard and Arkansas State signee had 16 points and four assists in a matchup versus Kentucky signee and MVP Tyrese Maxey.
Farrington had 22 pts, 7 Reb and 5 ast leading DME Academy to their second win of the day over Hillcrest North 81-72 Saturday evening. Video: Earlier in the day, DME picked up a 70-62 win over Superior College Athletics, Farrington contributed 12.

Simeon (6-7) topped Bloomington 72-63 in the third-place game of the 88th Pontiac Holiday as the Wolverines' Sincere Callwood (14 points -10 rebounds) provided plenty of offensive firepower. Simeon's only loss came by the hands of Chicago Public League Red South arch-rival Currie with a 62-55 defeat in the semifinals. Callwood contributed ten points. The junior 6-6 forward logged major minutes in Simeon's 56-52 win against St. Charles East in the quarterfinals on Friday. Simeon is scheduled to play National Hoop-fest (Memphis,TN) on January 4-5.

Champaign Central's Khailieo Terry was named to the second team at the 2018 Centralia Holiday Tournament. Terry had 18 points in a quarterfinals win over Arlington (Tenn), 59-44, and eight points and six blocks in the opening win over Thornton Fractional North, 44-39. The Maroons were bounced out in the semifinals by Belleville West, 57-24, and finished the tournament with a lost to Evanston, 74-48, in the third place game on Saturday. Champaign Central will face Lanphier HS at the MLK Dream Classic in Chicago, Jan. 19-21.

Killeen Shoemaker overpowered Little Elm, ranked No. 13 in the TABC 5A poll, pulling away for an 82-57 decision at Ereckson Middle School. J'Wan Roberts, the No. 16-ranked senior according to texashoops, scored 22 points for Shoemaker (18-4), the No. 15-ranked team in the TABC 6A poll. Shoemaker would also roll past Humble Atascocita 70-46 in a Friday quarterfinals. In the third-place game of the 5A-6A bracket, Killeen Shoemaker beat Cibolo Steele 57-40. Lake Travis won the tournament and held off Shoemaker, 47-45 in the semifinals.

Jovaughn Douglas and Sanford Seminole fell in the finals of the Seminole Holidya Tournament to East Lake 74-54. Seminole advance to the finals after defeating West Broward, 84- 71 behind 12 points from Douglas. Lehigh High School New Year's shootout is next for Seminoles (6-4) and starts on the 4th.

Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida) and the Arecibo Capitanes lost in game seven (4-3) on the road to the Quebradillas Pirates 92-84 before a full house at the Raymond Dalmau Coliseum.
