Walter Hodge
Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida) and Homenetmen season came to an end after falling to Beirut, 96-91, Tuesday evening in the Lebanese Basketball League. Beirut won the series three games to one over the defending champions. Beirut trailed for the majority of proceedings in Mezher before producing a 28-point fourth quarter to steal Game 4 and set up a finals meeting with Riyadi.

Homenetmen would have done their fair share of soul searching after Game 3's embarrassing blowout loss left them on the brink of elimination.

And the introspective days leading up to Game 4 appeared to have been precisely what was needed, as Joe Moujaes' side played with a renewed swagger from the outset Tuesday.

Walter Hodge struck from distance to make it 24-11 Homenetmen looked well on their way to a wire-to-wire victory. But Beirut proved their pedigree time and again over the past two seasons despite their brief history, and they would rally to reduce the lead 28-24.

Homenetmen would go on multiple runs in the third quarter, but despite their scoring bursts, just couldn't seem to put away the plucky visitors. Hodge drained an umpteenth 3-pointer to forge Homenetmen 64-55 ahead, before Beirut replied with a stirring comeback.

Beirut completed a 7-2 run at the quarter's end as Homenetmen led 70-68.

Beirut tied things at 79-79 and took their first lead 84-82 to silence the previously raucous crown in Mezher. Homenetmen's offense would misfire at a critical juncture, with Beirut taking full advantage of their opponents' nervy finish.

Beirut opened up a five-point advantage at 92-87 with under a minute remaining. Homenetmen did their utmost to achieve a Hail Mary finish, but Beirut ice the game and to advance to their first finals.

Hodge tallied 24 points and 13 assists in Homenetmen's losing effort.

NBA Draft Combine Notebook: Nicolas Claxton Displays Versatility - 5 days ago
CHICAGO - The on-court portion of the draft combine wrapped up on Friday, with two more scrimmages giving prospects a chance to perform in front of the entire league. As a whole, five-on-five play was heavily watered down this year as a vast majority of potential first-round picks opted not to play, aiming to protect their draft stock.
