Frank Elegar (208-C-86, college: Drexel) and Tofas were routed by league leading Anadolu Efes 98-54 in the postponed Day 27 game of the Turkish League on Tuesday. Elegar had eight points and nine boards. Elegar and Travis Trice' buckets in the 17th minute brought the Blue Greens within five, 36-31. However, the remainder of the second quarter belonged to Efes who prevented Tofas from scoring while ending with an 11-0 run to go into the locker room up, 47-31. TOFA struggles continued in the third manufacturing just six points and Efes scored 32 points to put the game away, 79-37 with the final quarter to play. The TOFA Basketball Team (18-9) will face Besiktas Sompo Japan on Sunday in the last week of the regular season.

Hodge in the BSN
The Most Valuable Player of the last Chrysler Final Series, Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida), will debut with the Arecibo Captains this Thursday when they host Quebradillas Pirates (14-9, second place). The point guard is expected to arrive in Puerto Rico on Wednesday and debut next day in the uniform of the defending champions. Hodge comes from averaging 22 points and 7 assists with the Homenetmen club in Lebanon. In this season his team was eliminated in the semifinal against the Beirut Club, losing the series 3-1.
Arecibo (13-12) presently sits in third place in the BSN and will have just ten games to incorporate all the new pieces that return after their overseas tour. Capitanes will tangle with Quebradillas three times and will not take on first place Aguada Santeros (15-9) in their final games.

Samuel and Culiacan in second place
Jamaal Samuel (206-F-93, college: ULM) and Culiacan Knights closed the first round of the Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit (CIBACOPA) with a win, 97-88, over Mazatlan Deers Saturday night. Caballeros will have a 10-day break before the next series of the competition, in addition to the pause for the 2019 All-Star Game to be held in Guadalajara on May 11. The Knights will be resting until May 14 when they return to action at home against Obregon. Samuel contributed 17 points and ten boards.

Former Virgin Islands junior national team member Jordan Murphy (201-F-97) had a free agent workout with the Timberwolves this morning. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 14.4 points, 11 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season at Minnesota while shooting 48.7 percent from the field. He led the Big Ten in rebounding and double-doubles with 22. Murphy left Minnesota as the second all-time leading scorer in program history and was named to the All-Big Ten First Team by a panel of media members

Under Armour AAU
Jourdyn Rawlins and Ohio C2K Elite are playing real well in the 16U division after winning seven games in eight tries. Martin Soaries founder of Basketball Society took notice of the 5-foot-9 guard.
'Class of 2021 guard Rawlins of C2K Elite had an impressive showing last night in the Under Armour Association. He made explosive plays consistently. Interesting prospect to remember. '

Khailieo Terry and All In Athletics dropped a double overtime classic to Illinoi Jaguars in the16U all in Gold Gauntlet at the Chicago Classic.
'Khailieo Terry from jumps out the gym. 6'4. Great ball skills. Fast and agile. Good defender, gets in passing lanes. Put down a windmill and reverse ally oop dunk last nights game.'

Patrick Ngongba
was the MVP in the Battle Ground Tournament last weekend held in Hampton. He took over on both ends of the floor to help his team to the 7th grade championship. Ngongba is the son of Tajama Abraham-Ngongba.

Pan American Games Draw LIMA, PERU - 2 hours ago
FIBA held the draw for groups for men's basketball of the Pan American Games in Lima 2019, leaving the Virgin Islands in group A with Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the United States. A select team of men's basketball standouts from the BIG EAST Conference will represent the United States at the 2019 Pan American Game while Puerto Rico will be sending their B team as their A team is set to play in the World Games.
