Frank Elegar (208-C-86, college: Drexel) and Tofas were routed by league leading Anadolu Efes 98-54 in the postponed Day 27 game of the Turkish League on Tuesday. Elegar had eight points and nine boards. Elegar and Travis Trice' buckets in the 17th minute brought the Blue Greens within five, 36-31. However, the remainder of the second quarter belonged to Efes who prevented Tofas from scoring while ending with an 11-0 run to go into the locker room up, 47-31. TOFA struggles continued in the third manufacturing just six points and Efes scored 32 points to put the game away, 79-37 with the final quarter to play. The TOFA Basketball Team (18-9) will face Besiktas Sompo Japan on Sunday in the last week of the regular season.

Hodge in the BSN
The Most Valuable Player of the last Chrysler Final Series, Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida), will debut with the Arecibo Captains this Thursday when they host Quebradillas Pirates (14-9, second place). The point guard is expected to arrive in Puerto Rico on Wednesday and debut next day in the uniform of the defending champions. Hodge comes from averaging 22 points and 7 assists with the Homenetmen club in Lebanon. In this season his team was eliminated in the semifinal against the Beirut Club, losing the series 3-1.
Arecibo (13-12) presently sits in third place in the BSN and will have just ten games to incorporate all the new pieces that return after their overseas tour. Capitanes will tangle with Quebradillas three times and will not take on first place Aguada Santeros (15-9) in their final games.

Samuel and Culiacan in second place

Caballeros will have a 10-day break before the next series of the competition, in addition to the pause for the 2019 All-Star Game to be held in Guadalajara on May 11. The Knights will be resting until May 14 when they return to action at home against Obregon. Samuel contributed 17 points and ten boards.
