SWOSU senior guard Tyra Aska picked up her fourth consecutive All-Great American Conference selection and second straight First Team nod.
Aska (Meridian, Okla.) becomes the fourth four-time All-GAC selection in conference history and the second from SWOSU, joining former teammate Hailey Tucker. This is the second straight year that Aska, a former GAC Defensive Player of the Year, earned a selection to the First Team and she does so as SWOSU's second-leading scorer at 11.4 points per game. She also ranks second on the team in assists and third in rebounds and steals. Earlier this season, Aska was named to the GAC's inaugural All-Decade Team and she enters the GAC Tournament ranked fifth in school history in scoring with 1,551 career points and second in both career steals and assists.
SWOSU has now received a league-leading 27 All-Great American Conference selections in the nine-year history of the conference, including 13 First Team All-GAC selections and 13 specialty awards. The Lady Bulldogs open up play in the 2020 GAC Tournament on Friday night at 8:00 pm, facing Arkansas-Monticello in the quarterfinals.
