DALLAS - Anisha George (188-C-98) of North Texas women's basketball was named Second Team All-Conference USA as announced by the league office Monday.
The senior post has been a force during her two years with the Mean Green, earning a spot on the Conference USA All-Defensive Team last season.
This season, George is averaging team-highs of 14.3 points and 8.9 rebounds and leads Conference USA in field goal accuracy and is fifth in the nation at shooting over 64 percent. George scored a career-high 26 points against UTSA Feb. 22, and her 26 rebounds collected against Mid-America Christian Nov. 7 ranks as the highest single game total in Division I in 2019-20. A double-double machine, the St. Croix, Virgin Islands, native has already produced at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in 10 contests this season and notched six last year.
During her UNT career, George has recorded over 700 points, nearly 500 rebounds and over 60 blocked shots.
George is also a member of the Virgin Islands National Team. This past summer at the Pan American Games held in Peru, she led the Games in rebounding, field goal percentage and was second in scoring with nearly 21 points per game.
