Puthoff-King number one in United Cup HA for round 1 (by Hoops Agents)- July 13, 2023
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Indias (#4, 0-1) with 25-point margin 64-39. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Immortals is placed at 2nd position in United Cup. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Immortals won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Puthoff-King has many years of experience at Immortals, through which she has constantly improved. Former University of Richmond star has very solid stats this year. Puthoff-King is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.0rpg) and averages impressive 3.0spg. Worth to mention Puthoff-King played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball. The second best player in last round's games was young Khaalia Hillsman (195-C-1996) of league's leader Flint LM. Hillsman had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Of course she led Flint LM to another comfortable win outscoring Fenix (0-1) 70-49. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Hillsman is one of the most experienced players at Flint LM and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#2). She also registered 11.0 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Yadira Polanco (178-G/F-1992) of Fenix (#3). Polanco scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Polanco's great performance Fenix lost 49-70 to #1 ranked Flint LM. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Fenix can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 1 games. Too bad for Polanco she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. The season just started for Polanco as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4. Ameryst Alston (175-G-1993) of Flint LM - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Brandie Baker-Cunningham (188-F-1990) of Flint LM - 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 6. Maria Coronado (168-G-1991) of Fenix - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Asia Boyd (185-F-1992) of Flint LM - 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Jennifer Pena (175-G/F-1993) of Immortals - 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Nayely Morillo (166-G-1999) of Indias - 15 points and 3 rebounds 10. Toccara Ross (185-F-1986) of Immortals - 8 points and 5 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
