Eloy Vargas (ex Kavala) agreed terms with Defensor - Dec 4, 2015

Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (LUB) inked 27-year old Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-113kg-88, college: Kentucky, agency: You First). He already started the season at Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas in Greek A1 league. In 7 games he recorded 7.6ppg and 4.9rpg this season. The most of last summer Vargas spent at Metros de Santiago (LNB) in Dominican Rep. league. In 26 games he averaged 9.8ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.3bpg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to All-Dominican Rep. LNB Honorable Mention. He also played at Vaqueros (BSN) in Puerto Rican league earlier that season. In 21 games he averaged 7.9ppg and 6.3rpg. The last (2015) season Vargas played at D-Fenders in D-League. In 30 games he averaged 8.7ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.6bpg.
The previous (13-14) season he played at Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league. In 27 games he averaged 5.5ppg and 4.0rpg in 2013-14 season.
In the summer of 2013 Vargas played at San Lazaro (District National) in Dominican Rep. league.
Last year (two years after he left the college) Vargas was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in first round (17th overall).
The former University of Kentucky staris in his fourth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Vargas received All-Centrobasket 1st Team award in 2014. He represented Dominican Republic at the Centrobasket in Nayarit (Mexico) last year. Vargas' team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 13.0ppg, 7.2rpg, Blocks-5 (1.2bpg), FGP: 50.0%, FT: 73.7%.

LUB Round 2: Defensor keeps a leadership position - 2 days ago
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LUB. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. Defensor defeated Aguada in Montevideo 84-66.
