Ebi Ere
Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (LUB) tabbed experienced 37-year old Nigerian ex-international swingman Ebi Ere (195-100kg-81, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points). He played most recently at Sluc Nancy Basket Pro in French ProA. In 16 games he averaged 12.7ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.4apg last season.
The previous (2016) summer Ere played at Capitanes in Puerto Rican BSN where in 24 games he had 7.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.1apg in 2016 season.
In 2003 he was drafted by Oklahoma Storm (USBL) in fifth round (39th overall).
The former University of Oklahoma staris in his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements his team made it to the Italian final in 2014. Ere received also Italian SerieA All-Defensive Team award back in 2013.
He represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) two years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 7.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.4apg, FGP: 52.9%, 3PT: 38.5%, FT: 66.7%.
Ere is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. Ere has played previously professionally in Australia (Adelaide 36ers, United and Bullets), Belgium (Liege Basket), Germany, Spain (Blusens Monbus), Italy (Openjobmetis VA and Juvecaserta), France (Pau Lacq Orthez) and Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Gallitos and Carolina).
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Defensor.
Let's have closer look into Ere's outlook: Ebi is an athletic player and a prolific scorer. His strength is that he puts the ball in the hole. He has great size for a wing, and this enables him to defend hard on various kind of opponents. Can spend time in the 2 and 3 positions as well.

LUB Round 3: #1 Hebraica is defeated by Verdirrojo - 2 days ago
There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most surprising game was a loss of Hebraica (2-1) in Montevideo on Monday night. Hosts were edged by Verdirrojo (1-1) 79-77. 28 personal fouls committed by Hebraica helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard J Mayora (180-95) who led his team to...   [read more]
