The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Goes (#5) and Aguada (#3). Aguada was defeated at home 67-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aguada. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Goes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Fernando Martinez (170-79, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 20 points and 11 assists for the winners. American forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Interperformances) answered with 31 points and 9 rebounds for Aguada. Goes (6-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with Olimpia. Aguada at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#8) and Urunday Univ. (#5). Urunday Univ. was defeated at home 80-86 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Urunday Univ.. Naturalized Spanish center Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Anthony Danridge chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Nacional (5-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Urunday Univ. at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Atenas. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Olimpia.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hebraica (5-3) against eleventh ranked Trouville (4-5) on Monday night. Host Hebraica was defeated by Trouville in Montevideo 89-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hebraica. Hernando Caceres nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Brian Williams came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for Hebraica in the defeat. Trouville moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bigua. Loser Hebraica dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Trouville's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Bigua.
Bottom-ranked Sayago is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to sixth ranked Olimpia (6-3) 87-61. The best player for the winners was Ivan Loriente who scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Goes. Newly promoted Sayago still closes the standings with nine games lost. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Nacional.
Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Atenas (#9) and Verdirrojo (#12). Atenas (5-4) won against visiting Verdirrojo (1-6) 103-90. It was a good game for Gabriel Belardo who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Atenas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Urunday Univ. Verdirrojo lost fifth consecutive game. Verdirrojo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Atenas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Hebraica.

In the last game of round 9 Welcome was beaten by Bigua on the road 69-65.



Atenas - Verdirrojo 103-90

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Atenas (#9) and Verdirrojo (#12). Atenas (5-4) won against visiting Verdirrojo (1-6) 103-90. Atenas looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Guard Alex Lopez (185-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 17 assists for the winners. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Joe Efese (198-90, college: Cent.Conn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and the other American import forward Cleon Roberts (198-93, college: La Salle) added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Verdirrojo. Atenas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Urunday Univ. Verdirrojo lost fifth consecutive game. Verdirrojo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Atenas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Hebraica.

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Bigua (4-5) beat 13th ranked Atletico Welcome (1-7) in Montevideo 69-65 on Monday. Bigua outrebounded Atletico Welcome 43-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. Atletico Welcome was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 24 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Nick Waddell (200-89, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Nate Frye (183-94, college: New Orleans) added 16 points in the effort for Atletico Welcome. Bigua maintains tenth place with 4-5 record, which they share with Trouville. Atletico Welcome lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost.
