Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Aguada (#3) and Malvin (#2). Malvin was smashed at home by 21 points 73-94 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Malvin. Aguada dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Malvin's 36. Forward Demian Alvarez (192-84, agency: Pro Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. American center Ricardo Glenn (203-90, college: USC Upstate, agency: HMS) contributed with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Aguada's coach Fernando Cabrera felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds for Malvin. Aguada have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Aguada went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Malvin. Aguada's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Goes.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Defensor (#1) and Nacional (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for Defensor, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Nacional challenged much higher ranked Defensor giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by five points 92-87. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Corin Henry who added 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. Forward Santiago Moglia (196-89) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Defensor have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Nacional lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Defensor's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo .
Bottom-ranked Sayago is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to fifth ranked Urunday Univ. (5-4) 93-79 on Friday evening. The winners were led by Chaz Crawford who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Kamerom Williams did not help to save the game for Sayago. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Urunday Univ. have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Urunday Univ. went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with Atenas. Newly promoted Sayago still closes the standings with nine games lost. Urunday Univ.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Nacional.
A very interesting game took place in Montevideo. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Bigua (4-5) to fifth ranked Goes (6-3) 80-78 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Nicolas Borsellino who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Goes moved-up to second place, which they share with Olimpia. Bigua at the other side keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Goes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Aguada.
Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#3) and Atletico Welcome (#13). Atletico Welcome was defeated at home 65-72. Federico Haller orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Despite that victory Hebraica went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Atletico Welcome lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with seven games lost. Hebraica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Trouville.

In the last two games of round 8 Olimpia beat Verdirrojo on the road 85-67. Trouville lost to Atenas on its own court 73-86.

Welcome - Hebraica 65-72

Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#3) and Atletico Welcome (#13). Atletico Welcome was defeated at home 65-72. Hebraica made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Hebraica outrebounded Atletico Welcome 43-30 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Federico Haller (198-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) contributed with 6 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Angel Varela (187-87) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Cristian Modernell (198-99) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Atletico Welcome.

Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Verdirrojo's players. Verdirrojo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch.
