ALFRIE KELLEY

Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (LUB) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85kg-85, college: S.Carolina). He supposed to play at Atlas Ferzol in Lebanese LBL league, but left the team in Dec.'18. In two games he recorded 3.5ppg and 4.0apg this season.
The most of last season Kelley spent at TED Kolejliler (TBL) in league where in 20 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 21.0ppg and had 2.7rpg and 7.9apg (leader !!!). He also played for Socar Petkim (TBL) in league. In 7 games he averaged 13.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 4.0apg.
Kelley has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Turkish TBL in 2016. Kelley received also Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TBL 1st Team award back in 2016.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Kelley's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in eleven different countries. Kelley has played previously professionally in Belgium, China, Croatia, Greece, Israel (Hapoel Holon), Italy (Basket Barcellona), Puerto Rico (Gallitos and Capitanes), Venezuela (Cocodrilos and Marinos), NBA (Miami Heat), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce) and Turkey (Balikesir).
He attended University of South Carolina until 2007 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Can score with the ball, is a good playmaker and he understands the game ... Overall game is what excites the coaching staff ... Wing-span is 76 inches.... He's more a penetrator than a good outside shooter, however....
