PATRICK SANDERS

American Forward Patrick Sanders (201-F-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Defensor, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Atenas (#11, 6-10) 99-91. Defensor maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Defensor will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. In the team's last game Sanders had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Defensor's top player in his first season with the team. Patrick Sanders averages this season 17.0ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Jarred Shaw (208-C-90) of GOES. Shaw had a very good evening with 30 points and 5 rebounds. Bad luck as Goes was edged by the higher-ranked Malvin (#4, 10-4) 103-102. This loss caused Goes to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Shaw is a newcomer at Goes, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.2ppg (#1). He also registered 9.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Panamanian center Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of Hebraica (#6). Lloreda scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hebraica, leading his team to a 98-76 easy win against the lower-ranked Verdirrojo (#13, 2-13). Hebraica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. The season just started for Lloreda as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Agustin Pose) of Atenas - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Anthony Danridge (196-F-86) of Nacional - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Fernando Martinez (170-G-79) of Goes - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Paul Harrison (203-C-89) of Trouville - 16 points and 11 rebounds

9. Andrew Feeley (205-C/F-83) of Aguada - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Phil Henry (203-C/F-91) of Atenas - 29 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
