BRANDON NAZIONE

American Brandon Nazione (202-PF-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best OLIMPIA and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 24-year old power forward had the game-high 30 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Olimpia in his team's victory, helping them to crush Aguada (#8, 9-7) with 18-point margin 86-68. Olimpia maintains the 2nd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Olimpia will need more victories to improve their 12-5 record. In the team's last game Nazione had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Olimpia's top player in his first season with the team. Brandon Nazione averages this season 15.2ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old American forward Jeremis Smith (203-F-86, agency: Pro Sports) of Bigua. Smith impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Bigua to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Verdirrojo (#13, 2-14) 92-72. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Bigua keeps 10th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-10 record. Smith is one of the most experienced players at Bigua and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Panamanian Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of Hebraica (#6). Lloreda showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hebraica, leading his team to a 94-84 win against Sayago (#14, 0-17). Hebraica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Lloreda has a very solid season. In 2 games in Uruguay he scored 22.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-C-88) of Defensor - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Fotios Lampropoulos (206-PF-83) of Malvin - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Tyrone Lee (204-F-90) of Urunday Univ. - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Esteban Batista (208-C-83) of Nacional - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists

10. Joaquin Osimani (193-F-87) of Bigua - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
