JOE EFESE

CD Universidad Catolica de Santiago (Liga Nacional) signed 28-year old American power forward Joe Efese (198-107kg-90, college: Central Connecticut State). He started the season at Verdirrojo in Uruguayan LUB league. In 17 games he had very impressive stats: 21.6ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.8bpg this season. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week. The last summer Efese played at La Salle Olympic CBBA Cochabamba (Libobasquet) in league where in 13 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 22.2ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1bpg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Bolivian Libobasquet 1st Team.
Efese's team made it to the NEC Tournament Semifinals in 2011.
He has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata).
Efese attended Central Connecticut State until 2013 and it is his sixth season as a professional player.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Uruguayan players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Mathias Calfani (204-92, agency: Pro Sports). He could not help San Lorenzo (22-3) in their last game.
