Drew Martin
DREW MARTIN

24-year old forward Drew Martin (203-F-94, agency: Court Side) put on an amazing game in the last round for VERDIRROJO and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 22.
He had a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Atenas (#11, 7-16) 97-103. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Verdirrojo maintains the 13th position in Uruguayan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 19 games and recorded just two victories. Martin just recently signed at Verdirrojo, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Concordia University, OR graduate has very impressive stats this year. Martin is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 3.0apg).

Second best performed player last round was Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of Hebraica. He is Panamanian center in his first season at Hebraica. In the last game Lloreda recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Hebraica lost that game 85-90 to slightly higher-ranked Trouville (13-9). Despite lost game Hebraica moved up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Lloreda is one of the most experienced players at Hebraica and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another VERDIRROJO's star - guard J Mayora (180-G-95). Mayora got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for nine assists. Despite Mayora's great performance Verdirrojo lost 97-103 to slightly higher-ranked Atenas (#11, 7-16). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Verdirrojo can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Mayora he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mayora has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.8apg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Duke Crews (203-F-88) of Sayago - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Fernando Verrone (200-F-88) of Sayago - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Calvin Warner (201-F-80) of Sayago - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85) of Hebraica - 17 points and 12 assists
8. Hatila Passos (211-C-85) of Malvin - 18 points and 8 rebounds
9. Donald Robinson (193-G-89) of Trouville - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Abel Agarbado (172-G-93) of Olimpia - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
