Panamanian Center Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hebraica, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 38-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Atenas (#11, 7-16) with 42-point margin 101-59. Hebraica is placed at 7th position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hebraica will need more victories to improve their 13-9 record. Lloreda just recently signed at Hebraica, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Jaime Lloreda averages this season 20.6ppg and 9.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old American Rick Jackson (206-F-89) of GOES. Jackson had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Goes was edged by the higher-ranked Trouville (#6, 13-9) 89-85. This loss caused Goes to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 12-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jackson is a newcomer at Goes, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chaz Crawford (207-F/C-84) of Urunday Univ. (#3). Crawford scored 22 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Crawford's great performance Urunday Univ. lost 78-86 to #1 ranked Nacional. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Urunday Univ. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 15 victories and 6 lost games. Crawford has a great season in Uruguay. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.2rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.6bpg and FGP: 55.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Federico Haller (198-F-88) of Hebraica - 28 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Ricardo Glenn (203-C-90) of Aguada - 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Angel Varela (187-G-87) of Welcome - 11 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Dwayne Davis (196-F-89) of Aguada - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Martin Osimani (194-G-81) of Bigua - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Jarred Shaw (208-C-90) of Goes - 20 points and 5 rebounds
10. Nicolas Mazzarino (184-G-75) of Malvin - 23 points and 2 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. LUB Round 27: Defensor edges Hebraica by two points - 7 days ago
The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 27 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Hebraica (14-12) to fifth ranked Defensor (17-9) 89-87 on Monday evening. Defensor made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offen...   [read more]
