CALVIN WARNER

Experienced American Calvin Warner (201-F-80) had a great game in the last round for Sayago and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 38-year old forward had a double-double of 36 points and twenty four rebounds, while his team edged out Verdirrojo (#13, 2-20) 100-97. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Sayago maintains the 14th position in Uruguayan LUB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Sayago have already lost 21 games and recorded just two victories. Warner just recently signed at Sayago, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Calvin Warner averages this season 21.5ppg, 12.5rpg and 6.5apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Sayago's star - 30-year old American forward Duke Crews (203-F-88). Crews impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Sayago to edge slightly higher-ranked Verdirrojo (#13, 2-20) by 3 points 100-97. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Sayago is still at the dead bottom 14th position. 21 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Sayago managed to get this year. Crews is a newcomer at Sayago and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Brazilian Hatila Passos (211-C-85) of second-ranked Malvin. Passos scored 18 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Malvin, leading his team to a 98-89 win against the lower-ranked Aguada (#5, 14-8). Malvin needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 6 lost games. Passos has a great season in Uruguay. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (3rd best). Hatila Passos has also Uruguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Fernando Martinez (170-G-79) of Goes - 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Dwayne Davis (196-F-89) of Aguada - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Rick Jackson (206-F-89) of Goes - 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Jarred Shaw (208-C-90) of Goes - 27 points and 8 rebounds
8. Emilio Taboada (191-PF-82) of Urunday Univ. - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Paul Harrison (203-C-89) of Trouville - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. J Mayora (180-G-95) of Verdirrojo - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 16 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
