Shawn Glover
SHAWN GLOVER

American Forward Shawn Glover (201-F-90, agency: Haylett Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Malvin, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Verdirrojo (#14, 2-22) 71-68. It allowed Malvin to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Malvin has a very solid 20-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Glover had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Malvin's top player in his first season with the team. Shawn Glover averages this season 16.7ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 38-year old Panamanian Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of Hebraica. Lloreda had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Hebraica lost that game 87-98 to the higher-ranked Aguada (#5, 16-9). Hebraica managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Lloreda is one of the most experienced players at Hebraica and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Claudio Charquero (207-C-77) of WELCOME (#12). Charquero scored 20 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Welcome, leading his team to a 91-89 win against the higher-ranked Urunday Univ. (#6, 16-9). Welcome can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Charquero he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Charquero has a very solid season. In 23 games in Uruguay he scored 8.7ppg. He also has 6.3rpg and FGP: 59.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Steffphon Pettigrew (196-F-89) of Hebraica - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Tyrone Lee (204-F-90) of Urunday Univ. - 18 points and 9 rebounds
6. Ricardo Glenn (203-C-90) of Aguada - 12 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Rick Jackson (206-F-89) of Goes - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Kamerom Williams (188-G-94) of Sayago - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
9. John DeGroat (201-PF-85) of Nacional - 26 points and 5 rebounds
10. Phil Henry (203-C/F-91) of Atenas - 24 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
