Here is the weekly review of the top performing Uruguayan players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Mathias Calfani (204-92, agency: Pro Sports, currently plays in Argentina). He led San Lorenzo to a victory over the 17th-ranked Libertad Sunchales (4-14) 84-79 in the Argentinian La Liga in Friday night's game. Calfani was MVP of the game. He recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 32 minutes on the court. San Lorenzo de Almagra (16-1) is placed first in the La Liga. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Calfani averages: 8.9ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.9apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 60.7%(34-56) and FT: 58.3% in 16 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Uruguayan senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Luciano Parodi (182-94, currently plays in Brazil). Parodi could not help Corinthians (3-7) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Corinthians was defeated 92-81 on the road by the lower-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#10). Parodi was the second best scorer with 21 points. He also added 4 assists. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Parodi has relatively good stats this season: 14.3ppg, 3.8rpg, 6.5apg, 2.5spg, 2FGP: 53.7%, 3FGP: 41.5%. He is in the roster of the Uruguayan senior national team.

   #3. The Uruguayan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Bruno Fitipaldo (183-91, also represented by Pro Sports, currently plays in Spain). Fitipaldo contributed to a 2-point Burgos' victory against the closely-ranked Gran Canaria (7-15) 89-87 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He scored 12 points and added 4 assists in 20 minutes. San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (9-13) is placed 13th in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Fitipaldo's overall stats are: 8.6ppg, 1.8rpg, 4.8apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 55.8%(29-52), 3FGP: 37.5% in 21 games. He is also a member of the Uruguayan senior national team.

An experienced small forward Mauricio Aguiar (199-83, another player represented by Pro Sports, currently plays in Brazil) is a teammate of previously mentioned Luciano Parodi and both played together in the last Brazilian NBB game. Aguiar was not able to help Corinthians in their game against Paschoalotto/Bauru (8-13). He scored only 4 points. Corinthians was defeated 92-81 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#10). Aguiar's total stats this season are: 7.7ppg and 1.4rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Uruguayan. Aguiar used to play for the Uruguayan national team back in 2016.

   #5. Former U17 international center Rogelio De Leon (205-89, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Rocamora (1-0) in their last game. Despite his good performance the second-placed Rocamora (1-0) was edged 58-57 in Rivadavia by the second-ranked Centro Deportivo de Mendoza in the South - C.South group. De Leon was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year De Leon's total stats are: 9.2ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.6bpg in five games. He used to play for the Uruguayan U17 national team fourteen years ago.

Forward Maximiliano Sole (197-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Real Madrid II's victory against the eighth-ranked Rivas (10-12) 93-85 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Sole scored 6 points in only 12 minutes. Real Madrid II (18-5) is placed second in Group B. Sole has averaged so far 4.3ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.3apg in 18 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Uruguayan senior team four years ago.

Guerra was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 34 minutes. But Palma II (#9) lost 78-91 on the opponent's court to the second-ranked Mollet in the Group C-B. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. This year Guerra has relatively solid stats: 12.2ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.3apg in 19 games. He used to play for the Uruguayan U18 national team nine years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Uruguayan passport but never been selected to any of Uruguayan national teams:

   #1. Agustin Zuvich (201-F/C-95, currently plays in Argentina). Zuvich could not help Gimnasia LP (9-20) to beat Parque Sur (13-17). He recorded 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Gimnasia LP (#8) was badly defeated 86-70 on the road by the higher-ranked Parque Sur (#5) in the South - C.South group. This season Zuvich has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3spg. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Uruguayan.

   #2. Emiliano Giano (180-PG-89, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Basket Navarra to win against the second-ranked Real Murcia (16-9) crushing them 77-51 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Friday. Giano recorded only 3 points. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Basket Navarra (17-8) is placed first. Giano has averaged so far 3.1ppg and 1.1rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Italian and Uruguayan.

Aguada - Malvin 78-67 Aguada beat Malvin to gain 3-1 lead in the championship series. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Andrew Feeley (205-83, college: UMBC) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Marquis Mathis agreed terms with Defensor - 2 days ago
MARQUIS MATHIS Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (LUB) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American power forward Marquis Mathis (200-104kg-89, college: W.Florida). He moved there from Lancaster Thunder (NABL) in the U.S. where he played this season. This season Mathis played at Trouville. In 5 NABL games he recorded 7.2ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.6apg.
