ESTEBAN BATISTA

Experienced Naturalized Spanish Esteban Batista (208-C-83, agency: Duran International) had a great game in the last round for Nacional and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
The 35-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Aguada (#2, 2-1) 117-123. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Nacional moved-up to the 4th position in Uruguayan LUB. Nacional is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 3 games. Batista turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Batista has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.7rpg), assists (9th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 54.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 35-year old American forward Al Thornton (203-F-83) of second-ranked Aguada. Thornton impressed basketball fans with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Aguada to edge slightly lower-ranked Nacional (#4, 1-2) by 6 points 123-117. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Aguada consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Thornton is one of the most experienced players at Aguada and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Anthony Young (200-F-89) of Defensor (#6). Young showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Defensor, leading his team to a 72-69 win against Urunday Univ. (1-2). The chances of Defensor not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Young could try to bring Defensor's a little bit higher in the standings. Young has a very solid season. In 3 games in Uruguay he scored 19.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Hatila Passos (211-C-85) of Malvin - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Fernando Martinez (170-G-79) of Goes - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Brandon Nazione (202-PF-94) of Olimpia - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. John DeGroat (201-PF-85) of Nacional - 27 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Paul Harrison (203-C-89) of Trouville - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Chaz Crawford (207-F/C-84) of Urunday Univ. - 13 points and 14 rebounds
10. Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of Hebraica - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
