There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in LUB. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Olimpia (3-2) in Montevideo on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Bigua (3-2) 82-74. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Places 7-10. Bigua made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Martin Rojas (197-98) contributed with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Abel Agarbado (172-93) answered with 15 points and 7 assists for Olimpia. Olimpia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bigua maintains second place in Places 7-10 with 3-2 record having twenty four points less than leader Atenas. Bigua's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Hebraica.
Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Leader Malvin (4-0) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging 6th ranked Defensor (1-3) 106-104 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Naturalized Italian guard Nicolas Mazzarino (184-75) stepped up and scored 32 points and 4 assists for the winners and Wendell McKines chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 22 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place in Places 1-6 with 4-0 record. Defensor at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Nacional.
A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Hebraica and Goes. Fourth ranked Hebraica (2-3) got a very close victory on the road over 3rd placed Goes (2-3). Hebraica managed to escape with a 3-point win 85-82 on Friday evening. Gustavo Barrera nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Rick Jackson came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks for Goes in the defeat. Hebraica maintains fourth place in Places 7-10 with 2-3 record. Hebraica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Bigua.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#4) and Trouville (#3). Nacional (2-2) won against visiting Trouville (1-3) 97-92. The best player for the winners was Esteban Batista who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Trouville's coach Alvaro Tito tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nacional maintains fourth place in Places 1-6 with 2-2 record. Trouville at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Malvin.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Urunday Univ. (#5) and Aguada (#2). Aguada was crushed at home by 18 points 64-82 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a key game for the second position in Places 1-6. Emilio Taboada orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Urunday Univ. (2-2) moved-up to second place in Places 1-6. Urunday Univ.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Trouville.
