Trouville outgunned Urunday Univ. in the opener. Trouville made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Donald Robinson (193-89, college: WVU Tech) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Naturalized Italian point guard Marcos Marotta (180-89) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Trouville's coach Alvaro Tito allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Emilio Taboada (191-82, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Urunday Univ.

Defensor upset Aguada on the road for the opening win. Defensor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 28. American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and his fellow American import forward Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Defensor players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Demian Alvarez (192-84, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American center Ricardo Glenn (203-90, college: USC Upstate, agency: HMS) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds.
