Vargas number one in Uruguay LUB for round 13 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Center Eloy Vargas (211-C-1988, agency: BIG) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Aguada, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Hebraica (#4, 7-5) 90-88. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Aguada maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguada will need more victories to improve their 8-5 record. Vargas turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Kentucky star has very solid stats this year. Vargas is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.8bpg and 55.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Colombian Andres Ibarguen (200-F-1996, agency: Helping Ballers) of Trouville. Ibarguen had a very good evening with 29 points and 6 rebounds. Of course Trouville cruised to a 89-77 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Defensor (#12, 4-9). This victory allowed Trouville to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ibarguen is a newcomer at Trouville, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Akia Pruitt (203-PF-1997) of L.Borges (#7). Pruitt scored 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of L.Borges, leading his team to a 94-92 win against Nacional (6-6). L.Borges needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Pruitt has a very solid season. In 7 games in Uruguay he scored 15.4ppg. He also has 7.3rpg, 1.1bpg, FGP: 57.4% and 3PT: 43.8%.
