Santos' double-double lands him Player of the Week award

29-year old Dominican Rep. center Luis Santos (203-C-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Atletico Aguada Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat Trouville (#9, 5-7) 90-82. It allowed Aguada to take over top position in the Uruguayan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguada has a very solid 10-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Santos turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. Saint Louis University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Santos is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 66.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Eric Romero (210-F/C-1999, agency: Pro Sports) of Atletico Cordon Montevideo. He is Panamanian forward in his first season at Cordon. In the last game Romero recorded impressive 32 points and 9 rebounds. Of course Cordon cruised to a 80-71 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Goes (#10, 4-8). This victory allowed Cordon to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Romero is a newcomer at Cordon and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#6). He also registered 7.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Kwame Alexander (201-F/C-1990, agency: BIG) of Club Trouville Montevideo (#9). Alexander got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . He was a key player of Trouville, leading his team to a 93-85 win against slightly lower-ranked Goes (#10, 4-8). The chances of Trouville ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Alexander could help Trouville to bring them higher in the standings. Alexander has a very solid season. In 12 games in Uruguay he scored 14.7ppg. He also has 6.8rpg and FGP: 56.3%.
