Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#7) and Defensor (#4). Defensor was defeated at home 78-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for naturalized Italian point guard Luciano Parodi (182-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Malik Curry (184-1999, college: WVU) with 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hebraica (7-6) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion (7-6) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Defensor. Hebraica's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Trouville.
Third ranked Penarol (9-2) crushed at home 11th ranked Urupan (4-10) by 26 points 90-64, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a quality performance for guard Juan Zanotta (185-1995) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jayson Granger accounted for 15 points and 7 assists. Colombian Alvaro Pena (197-1995) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Urupan in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Penarol. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nacional. Urupan lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Bigua.
