The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Aguada as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aguada edged 8th ranked Cordon in Montevideo 78-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cordon. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 24 points for the winners. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds. Aguada's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Panamanian power forward Eric Romero (210-1999, agency: Pro Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Aguada (11-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Cordon at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Trouville and Goes.
Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Third ranked Nacional (10-2) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging 6th ranked Malvin (7-8) 84-83 on Thursday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds. Franco Giorgetti contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized German Kiril Wachsmann (203-1984, college: Iona) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for Malvin. Nacional moved-up to second place, which they share with Penarol. Malvin at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bigua.

They maintain second position behind leader Aguada, which they share with Nacional. Loser Bigua keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Malvin.

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Penarol (#2) and Bigua (#6). Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mustapha Heron (196-1997, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian Sebastian Izaguirre (207-1985) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward LaRon Smith (205-1993, college: Auburn, agency: Helping Ballers) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Donald Robinson (192-1989, college: WVU Tech) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Goes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Cordon and Trouville. No shocking result in a game in Montevideo where fifth ranked Hebraica (8-6) defeated 9th ranked Trouville (5-8) 102-85 on Thursday. Hebraica outrebounded Trouville 42-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hebraica looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all sixteen shots !!!) and Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jervae Robinson (188-1998, college: WSU) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH, agency: BIG) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hebraica have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Defensor. Loser Trouville dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost.
