Franco Giorgetti gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan LUB (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Argentinian Franco Giorgetti (203-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Nacional De Futbol Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds, while his team edged out Bigua (#6, 9-11) 71-67. Nacional maintains the 2nd position in Uruguayan LUB. They are still close to the very top. Nacional would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 16-2 record. Giorgetti turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Franco Giorgetti averages this season 14.5ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Santiago Fernandez (186-G-2000) of Club Trouville Montevideo. Fernandez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Trouville lost that game 75-82 to slightly higher-ranked Malvin (#7, 9-11). Trouville is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-14 record. Fernandez is a newcomer at Trouville and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Italian Jayson Granger (191-G-1989) of top-ranked Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo. Granger scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Penarol, leading his team to a 57-52 win against the lower-ranked L.Borges (#12, 3-17). Penarol confirms their top position in the standings. Granger has a great season in Uruguay. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.6apg (3rd best). Jayson Granger has also Uruguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player. Granger attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
