Aguada defeated Hebraica in Montevideo 92-74. Aguada made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hebraica will play next round against strong Nacional trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena of Nacional. Aguada will try to continue on its current victory against Penarol. It will be extra interesting game as Penarol is their local rival from Montevideo.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Cordon (#8) and Nacional (#3). Cordon (11-12) crushed visiting Nacional (16-6) by 19 points 86-67. Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Bigua (#6) and Goes (#10). Goes were defeated at home 77-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help.
