This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of their biggest opponent Penarol (18-5) to first ranked Aguada (20-5) 82-81 in the game for the first place. 24 personal fouls committed by Penarol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Aguada have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-5 record. Penarol at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Aguada will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hebraica's coach Leonardo Zylberstein felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Tiago Leites responded with 17 points. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 14-9 record. Nacional lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with seven games lost.
