Ponds number one in Uruguay LUB for round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Shamorie Ponds (185-G-1998, agency: Worldwide SM) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Malvin Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, four rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Bigua (#6, 13-16) 103-91. It allowed Malvin to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Malvin has a very solid 16-13 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Ponds had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-16 record. Hamilton is a newcomer at Bigua, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 6.3rpg and 4.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Bigua's star - guard Martin Osimani (194-G-1981, agency: Pro Sports). Osimani showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Osimani's great performance the Atletico Bigua Montevideo lost 91-103 to the bottom-ranked Malvin (#7, 16-13). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Bigua ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Osimani could help Bigua to bring them higher in the standings. Osimani has a very solid season. In 18 games in Uruguay he scored 9.8ppg.
