There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in LUB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 12 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Bigua (15-18) to eighth ranked Trouville (14-20) 81-79 on Saturday evening. Trouville made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Santiago Fernandez (186-2000) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Trouville's coach Pablo Morales used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Leandro Garcia (188-1999) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists. Trouville maintains eighth position with 14-20 record. Bigua at the other side keeps the sixth place with 18 games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#3) and Hebraica (#5). Hebraica was smashed at home by 41 points 52-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Gaston Semiglia contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) replied with 15 points for Hebraica. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nacional maintains third position with 20-9 record having just one point less than leader Penarol. Hebraica lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Penarol.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Penarol (#2) and Hebraica (#5). Hebraica was smashed at home by 17 points 82-99 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of Jayson Granger who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The best for the losing side was Jordan Williams with 28 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Penarol have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Aguada. Hebraica lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Penarol's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Nacional.
