Andrade's double-double lands him Metropolitan Player of the Week award

24-year old Cape Verdean power forward Victor Andrade (202-PF-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Lagomar Canelones Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 28.
He had a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Goes (#4, 15-11) 97-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Lagomar maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Lagomar will need more victories to improve their 17-10 record. In the team's last game Andrade had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Lagomar's top player in his first season with the team. Victor Andrade averages this season 15.0ppg and 7.6rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Stan Scott (193-G-1998) of top-ranked Club Atletico Olimpia Montevideo. He is American guard in his first season at Olimpia. In the last game Scott recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Olimpia cruised to a 81-73 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Montevideo (#14, 10-17). Of course Olimpia still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just five games this season, while they won 21 matches. Scott is a newcomer at Olimpia and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Nicolas Borsellino (202-PF-1986) of Larranaga Montevideo (#5). Borsellino showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Larranaga, leading his team to a 89-82 win against slightly lower-ranked Tabare (#6, 13-13). Larranaga needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 12 lost games. Borsellino has a great season in Uruguay. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (8th best). Nicolas Borsellino has also Uruguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
