Daniel Moreira gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso (by Hoops Agents)

Talented Daniel Moreira (206-C-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Lagomar Canelones Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 21-year old center had a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Tabare (#13, 0-1) with 16-point margin 85-69. Lagomar is placed at 2nd position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Lagomar won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Moreira turned to be Lagomar's top player in his first season with the team. Moreira has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 17.0rpg) and averages solid 57.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Sergio Conceicao of Larre Borges Montevideo. Conceicao impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for L.Borges to edge Capitol (0-1) by 3 points 89-86. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Conceicao is one of the most experienced players at L.Borges and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#5). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Tirrell Brown (198-PF-1993) of Atletico Tabare (#13). Brown scored 28 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Brown's great performance the Tabare lost 69-85 to Lagomar (#2, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Brown as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
