The most surprising game was a loss of L.Borges in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Larranaga 79-73. Larranaga dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to L.Borges' 26. Larranaga forced 22 L.Borges turnovers. Point guard Gabriel Brun (175-2003) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guard Mateo Cancela (180-2001) contributed with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Sergio Conceicao replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for L.Borges.
Another interesting game for Stockolmo which played on the court of Montevideo. Stockolmo crushed hosts 96-69. Forward Joaquin Rodriguez (199-2003) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Emiliano Bonet chipped in 23 points during the contest. Mali forward N'Tio Diarra (202-2002) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Yale and Verdirrojo. Yale got a very close home victory over Verdirrojo. Yale managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 in the fight for the fourth place. Federico Miller notched 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 22 points and 4 assists by Xavier Couste did not help to save the game for Verdirrojo.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 2: Atenas beat Marne on the road 85-73. Winless Tabare lost to Colon on its own court 76-86. Lagomar managed to outperform Capitol in Montevideo 82-75.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 25 points and 10 rebounds by Ezequiel Bell of Capitol.
