SPB 2025 - Spartans ink Anthony Hilliard, ex Malvin

Anthony Hilliard

Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas (SPB) signed experienced 38-year old American swingman Anthony Hilliard (195cm-92kg-1986, college: ECSU). Hilliard moved there from Malvin in Uruguayan LUB league. In 37 games he had 14.3ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.8apg last season. The last summer he played at Sayago (Liga de Ascenso) in Uruguay where in 22 games he recorded 14.2ppg, 6.5rpg and 3.5apg. 2024-24 was a great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay Metropolitan League Honorable Mention.
He is quite experienced player. Hilliard has played in twelve different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Obera), Belarus (BC Minsk), Belgium (Okapi Aalst), Finland (Karhubasket and Bisons), France (Olympique Antibes and Le Portel), Germany (Artland Dragons), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Lebanon (Maristes), New Zealand (Airs), Portugal and Russia (Enisey). Hilliard played in the final of Finnish League in 2015 and 2021. He was voted All-CIAA Player of the Year back in 2008 and 2009.
Hilliard graduated from Elizabeth City State University in 2009 and it is his 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.
