Andriy Grytsak gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso

Ukrainian Andriy Grytsak (201-SF-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Atletico Atenas Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 25-year old had a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Capitol (#12, 2-10) 79-71. Atenas is placed at 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Atenas will need more victories to improve their 8-4 record. In the team's last game Grytsak had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Atenas, through which he has constantly improved. Grytsak has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 9.4rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg,2.2spg and 54.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Sergio Conceicao of Larre Borges Montevideo. Conceicao impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as L.Borges lost that game 70-80 to the lower-ranked Tabare (#11, 5-7). This loss caused L.Borges to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Conceicao is one of the most experienced players at L.Borges and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Atenas' star - American DeAngelo Stewart (197-SF-1995). Stewart scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Atletico Atenas Montevideo, helping his team with a 79-71 win against the lower-ranked Capitol (#12, 2-10). Atenas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Stewart has a very solid season. In 12 games in Uruguay he scored 13.8ppg.
