Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: L.Borges and Lagomar. L.Borges won against visiting Lagomar 86-82. Sergio Conceicao nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side. Victor Andrade came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for Lagomar in the defeat. Lagomar's coach Esteban Yaquinta rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. L.Borges' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Atenas.
Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Verdirrojo beat Colon on the road 69-62. Stockolmo lost to Montevideo on its own court 70-88. Bottom-ranked Capitol unfortunately lost to Tabare in a road game 76-82.
The most impressive performance of 1st round was 29 points and 10 rebounds by Anthony Moe of Capitol.
