The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Verdirrojo (13-4) in Montevideo on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Atenas (11-6) 84-78. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Verdirrojo. Atenas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Atenas made 9 blocks. It was a good game for point guard Luciano Planells (185-2001) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Mateo Pose (190-1994) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: L.Borges (#5) and Olimpia (#3). L.Borges (10-6) won against visiting Olimpia (11-6) 79-74. Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Larranaga (#2) and Marne (#7). Marne was defeated at home 82-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Agustin Zuvich notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 blocks by Lucas Silva did not help to save the game for Marne. Larranaga maintains second position with 11-5 record having just two point less than leader Verdirrojo. Loser Marne keeps the seventh place with ten games lost.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Tabare was beaten by Capitol on the road 79-73. Montevideo lost to Stockolmo on its own court 86-88. Lagomar managed to outperform Colon in Montevideo 78-73.
