Zuvich number one in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso for round 7 (by Hoops Agents)

Naturalized Argentinian Power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-F/C-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Larranaga Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out L.Borges (#4, 12-7) 91-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Larranaga to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Larranaga has a very solid 14-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Zuvich turned to be Larranaga's top player in his first season with the team. Agustin Zuvich averages this season 16.3ppg and 7.7rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Dwayne Russell (203-F-1998) of Club Atletico Olimpia Montevideo. Russell had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Olimpia lost that game 79-89 to the higher-ranked Verdirrojo (#2, 14-5). Olimpia managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 11-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Russell is a newcomer at Olimpia, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#5). He also registered 9.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Kwame Alexander (200-F/C-1990, agency: BIG) of Atletico Tabare (#11). Alexander got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and four assists. He was a key player of Tabare, leading his team to a 94-76 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Montevideo (#10, 9-10). The chances of Tabare ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Alexander could help Tabare to bring them higher in the standings. Alexander has a very solid season. In 9 games in Uruguay he scored 23.1ppg. He also has 11.7rpg, 1.9bpg and and 3PT: 50.0%.
