Real Esteli lands Anthony Hilliard, ex Olimpia

Real Esteli (LSB) tabbed experienced 39-year old American 195cm swingman Anthony Hilliard (college: ECSU). Hilliard played this summer at Olimpia in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. In 18 games just recently he averaged impressive 16.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Hilliard can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso All-Imports Team and Latinbasket.com All-Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso Second Team. He also played for Spartans in Venezuelan SPB where in two games he had 8.5ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.0apg.
Hilliard is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in twelve different countries playing on five different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. Hilliard has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Obera), Belarus (BC Minsk), Belgium (Okapi Aalst), Finland (Karhubasket and Bisons), France (Olympique Antibes and Le Portel), Germany (Artland Dragons), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Lebanon (Maristes), New Zealand (Airs), Portugal and Russia (Enisey). He played in the final of Finnish League in 2015 and 2021. Hilliard selected toAll-CIAA Player of the Year back in 2008 and 2009.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Real Esteli.
He graduated from Elizabeth City State University in 2009 and it will be his 18th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
