Feldeine number one in Uruguay LUB for round 3

American-Dominican Rep. Center James Feldeine (193-C-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nacional De Futbol Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 37-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, four rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Welcome (#12, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 117-106. Nacional is placed at 3rd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Nacional will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Feldeine had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Nacional and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Quinnipiac University star has very solid stats this year. Feldeine is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.0ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Colombian Alvaro Pena (197-SG-1995, agency: Starting 5) of Atletico Welcome Montevideo. Pena had a very good evening with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Welcome lost that game 106-117 to Nacional (2-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Pena is a newcomer at Welcome, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#3). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Tiago Leites (197-PG-2002) of Atletico Cordon Montevideo (#10). Leites scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Leites' great performance the Cordon lost 76-80 to Hebraica (#5, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cordon can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Too bad for Leites he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Leites has a very solid season. In 3 games in Uruguay he scored 14.0ppg.
