Gilder's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

30-year old American guard Admon Gilder (193-G-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Atletico Cordon Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Goes (#11, 1-6) 94-85. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Cordon maintains the 10th position in Uruguayan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 5 games and recorded just two victories. Gilder turned to be Cordon's top player in his first season with the team. Gonzaga University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gilder is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.0rpg), assists (5th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 3.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Alvaro Pena (197-SG-1995, agency: Starting 5) of Atletico Welcome Montevideo. He is Colombian guard in his first season at Welcome. In the last game Pena recorded an impressive 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Welcome lost that game 72-96 to the higher-ranked Hebraica (#4, 4-2). Welcome are still at the very bottom. 7 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Pena is a newcomer at Welcome and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#2). He also registered 7.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Connor Zinaich (201-F-1997) of league's second-best Nacional De Futbol Montevideo. Zinaich scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of Nacional, leading his team to a 104-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Urunday (#7, 3-4). Nacional is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 6-1 record is not that bad... Zinaich has a great season in Uruguay. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.3ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 8.5rpg (7th best).
