Rashad Hassan gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan LUB

Experienced American Rashad Hassan (203-C/F-1989) had a great game in the last round for Atletico Welcome Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 36-year old had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Hebraica (#5, 10-7) with 18-point margin 95-77. Welcome maintains the 12th position in Uruguayan LUB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Welcome have already lost 16 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Hassan had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Welcome's top player in his first season with the team. Savannah State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hassan is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.7ppg) and averages solid 61.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Justin Strings (201-F-1996) of Goes Montevideo. Strings impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Goes to edge slightly lower-ranked Cordon (#11, 3-15) by 4 points 76-72. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Goes keeps 10th position. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Goes managed to get this year. Strings is a newcomer at Goes and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jordan O'Neal (201-F/C-2001, agency: JCK Sports Group) of Atletico Cordon Montevideo (#11). O'Neal scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite O'Neal's great performance the Cordon lost 72-76 to slightly higher-ranked Goes (#10, 5-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cordon can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. O'Neal has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uruguay he scored 16.0ppg.
