Santiago Vescovi (191-G-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 24-year old guard had the game-high 27 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Penarol in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Malvin (#3, 16-9) with 29-point margin 96-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Penarol to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan LUB. Penarol have a solid 21-4 record. In the team's last game Vescovi had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Penarol's top player in his first season with the team. University of Tennessee graduate has very impressive stats this year. Vescovi is in league's top in assists (7th best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 59.8% FGP and 40.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Tevin Glass (203-C-1994) of Atletico Cordon Montevideo. Glass impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Cordon lost that game 82-88 to slightly higher-ranked Urunday (#9, 12-14). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Cordon keeps 11th position. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Cordon managed to get this Second Stage. Glass is a newcomer at Cordon and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-C/F-1989) of Nacional De Futbol Montevideo (#4). Oglivie scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Nacional, leading his team to a 111-80 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Hebraica (#5, 15-11). Nacional needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 8 lost games. Oglivie has a very solid season. In 13 games in Uruguay he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 6.1rpg and a FGP of 65.7%.
