Washington number one in Uruguay LUB for round 7

American Forward Jy'Lan Washington (206-F-1997, agency: SLN) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Hebraica (#5, 15-13) 97-87. It allowed Penarol to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan LUB. Penarol have a solid 22-4 record. In the team's last game Washington had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Jy'Lan Washington averages this season 9.5ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Earl Clark (208-PF-1988) of league's second-best Atletico Aguada Montevideo. Clark had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Aguada to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Malvin (#4, 17-11) 88-64. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Aguada consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 19-7 record is not bad at all. Clark is a newcomer at Aguada, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#4). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Elijah Weaver (197-G -1998) of Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (#6). Weaver scored 25 points. Despite Weaver's great performance the Defensor lost 68-80 to the higher-ranked Nacional (#3, 17-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Defensor ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 15 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Weaver could help Defensor to bring them higher in the standings. Weaver has a great season in Uruguay. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.6ppg (2nd best). He also has a FGP of 65.5% and 3PT: 45.5%.
