Camila Suarez gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga Femenina (Second Stage)

Argentinian Camila Suarez (178-SG-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old shooting guard had the game-high 28 points adding seven rebounds and seven assists for D.Sporting in her team's victory, helping them to beat Lagomar (#4, 4-5) 67-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed D.Sporting to jump to the first place in the Uruguayan Liga Femenina. D.Sporting still have not lost a single game, getting all 9 victories in Second Stage. In the team's last game Suarez had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. She just recently signed at D.Sporting, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Suarez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 14.8ppg), assists (2nd best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 3.1spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young power forward Emilia Borges (184-F/C-2002) of Urunday Universitario Montevideo. Borges impressed basketball fans with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course she led Urunday to another comfortable win outscoring Cordon (1-8) 80-55. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Borges is one of the most experienced players at Urunday and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Abril Ramirez (167-PG-2000, agency: BIG) of second-ranked Atletico Tabare. Ramirez showcased her all-around game by recording 4 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Tabare, leading her team to a 80-52 easy win against 25 de Agosto (#9, 0-9). The chances of Tabare ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Ramirez could help Tabare to bring them higher in the standings. Ramirez has a great season in Uruguay. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.6ppg (6th best), rebounds with 7.7rpg (8th best) and assists with 4.9apg (3rd best). She also has 4.0spg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 55.6%.
